Our Services

IMG_3897As a practice specializing in Advanced Optometric Care, the following are some of the services that we provide:

  • Comprehensive adult and pediatric eye examinations:  With our Optos retinal mapping instrument, dilation is usually not necessary.  Patients are not blurred after the examination, allowing for better judgement with frame selection and a safer drive home
  • Diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases through state of the art technology:
    • Optos digital retinal mapping instrument: Without dilation, Optos will immediately show different layers of the full retina to review in order to determine whether the retina is free of the many pathologies that may occur including retinal tears or detachments, macula degeneration, melanomas, diabetic retinopathy, hypertension and many more
    • Heidelberg retinal tomography: Used to diagnose and track optic nerve damage that may occur with uncontrolled glaucoma.  Results are immediately available which will aid in the proper treatment plan
  • Contact Lens Professional Fitting:  Dr. Arkin will fit patients with all types of contact lenses including all disposable contact lenses (one-day disposable, 30-day overnight wear, bifocal contacts,  gas permeable, specially designed contact lenses for keratoconus, CRT orthokeratology lenses)
  • Corneal Reshaping Therapy: CRT contact lenses are specially designed to be worn only while sleeping.  Patients will experience clear vision all waking hours without the need of eyeglasses or contact lenses
  • Lasik:  Dr. Arkin is credentialed to participate in the Lasik procedure for the remediation of myopia or nearsightedness.   He will determine if the patient is a candidate for Lasik and will be responsible for all pre- and post-op office visits
  • Eyewear:  Extensive collection of high fashion frames available onsite; Trained staff will assist patients with choosing the frame that is most appropriate for the prescription and facial characteristics. During the year, periodic adjustments to eyewear are always complimentary
  • Onsite Optical Lab:  In-house licensed optician will make certain that the eyeglasse are of the highest quality, and will fit them to the patient at dispensing.  Emergency repairs are never a problem

  • According to experts, 80% of learning is visual, which means that if your child is having difficulty seeing clearly, his or her learning can be affected.  This also goes for infants who develop and learn about the world around them through their sense of sight.  To ensure that your children have the visual resources they need to grow and develop normally, their eyes and vision should be checked by an eye doctor at certain stages of their development.
  • This service offers early detection of potential eye and vision problems at no cost regardless of income or ability to pay. It is a one-time, comprehensive eye and vision assessment for babies, usually conducted between the ages of 6 and 12 months.
  • We diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Cataracts.
  • We use the most up-to-date technology to ensure the best eye care possible. Learn about the different types of tests and equipment you may experience on a visit to our Practice.
  • Low vision is the term used to describe reduced eyesight that cannot be fully corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses or eye surgery.
  • If you're ready for an alternative to glasses and/or contacts look to us for co-management of LASIK, cataract, and other ocular surgery.
  • Did you know your optometrist can help you with red eyes, pink eye, or sore eyes, foreign body removal and eye emergencies?
  • As we reach middle age, particularly after age 40, it is common to start to experience difficulty with reading and performing other tasks that require near vision. This is because with age, the lens of our eye becomes increasingly inflexible, making it harder to focus on close objects. This condition is called presbyopia and eventually it happens to some extent, to everyone as they age.
